I have a 1933 World's Fair bamboo umbrella that is in good condition. Could you tell me what this item might be worth?
This is an umbrella made of wood, bamboo and a wax-type paper. It measures
approx. (24") tall. When opened, it is approx. (32") in diameter. On the handle is "CHICAGO - 1933 - CHICAGO - 1933".
I checked the internet auction at eBay, www.eBay.com, and found a 1933 Chicago World's Fair umbrella listed. The seller had a starting bid of $29.99 and got no takers. This item is listed in price guides at $100, if in excellent condition. One description says that this umbrella is from the Japan exhibition.
