We recently purchased a throat atomizer with the name "Eagle" stamped on the bulb and etched on the bottom of the amber glass bottle.  The metal cap over the bottle has the following mark: "E.D.S. Co. INC. NYC USA".  The atomizer is in perfect condition.  We would appreciate any information you could tell us about the manufacturer, age of the atomizer and its approximate value.

I'm not familiar with this manufacturer.  I would suggest that you contact a historical society in NCY for help in identifying them.  I do not think it will add much to the value of the item but it is interesting nonetheless.

You answered the question about age when you said it was from the 1920s.  These often had rubber bulbs which deteriorated naturally.  If yours is made of a newer substance, it may be from the 1930s or later.  Unless you can find a patent date, age is an educated guess based on where it came from and clues from its design and condition.

As far as value goes, throat atomizers are not hot collectibles, as far as I can tell. The value would be in the $15-20 range.  Perfume atomizers are always in demand, however, and bring higher prices, particularly the art glass type.
